You don't need an account to browse AI Directory. This article explains how sign-in works when you do use it, what cookies the site sets, and what happens when you click through to a tool. It's a plain-language summary. The privacy policy and terms are the official documents, and they take precedence if anything here differs.
Signing in
We use Google sign-in only. There's no password to set and nothing to reset. Click "Sign in", choose your Google account, and you're back on the site. We receive the basic profile details Google shares for sign-in: your name, email address and profile picture.
If you had a password account on an earlier version of the site, passwords are no longer used. Sign in with the Google account that has the same email address.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We also set a simple cookie that tells the page whether you're signed in, so the sign-in prompt can show or hide itself. See the cookies page for details. If you block cookies entirely, sign-in won't work, but browsing still does.
Outbound links and the redirect page
When you click "Visit" on a tool, you may pass through a short redirect at aidirectory.website/go before arriving at the tool's own site. The redirect records the destination and basic request information such as the time, referring page and browser type in our server logs. It only accepts normal web addresses and blocks local and private addresses and dangerous protocols.
Tools are third-party products
Once you leave AI Directory, the tool's own terms and privacy policy apply. We don't control what the tool does with your data. Before you upload anything sensitive to a tool you found here, read what it says about how it handles your inputs. It's worth the two minutes.
Ask us to change or delete your data
If you want your account or its data removed or corrected, email us from the address on your account and say what you want done. We may need to keep records we're legally required to keep.
Signing out
Use "Sign out" in the site menu. On a shared computer, that's worth doing every time.
