Turnitin

Turnitin is the platform many universities and schools use to check student work for plagiarism. It compares submissions against a large database of web pages, publications and earlier papers. Its AI writing indicator estimates how much of a submission may have been written by a language model, and it sits inside the same report instructors already use. It plugs into learning management systems such as Canvas, Blackboard and Moodle. Turnitin is sold to institutions, not individuals, with custom pricing. Educators are encouraged to treat the AI indicator as a prompt for conversation, not as final proof.
